Christmas Cheer and Best Wishes for the New Year

Well leading up to Christmas was very hectic, as it is for most, the school year came to an end for the kids with results and presentations, so did their respect sporting commitments, and our work functions as well as many of us trying to finish the year off on a clean slate and getting their last minute finances in place. I even got my beloved annual Christmas Cake made much later this year than I wished, it was still very yummy indeed.

After much anticipation, finally the big day (Christmas Day and Santa) arrived and we celebrated with family and friends, receiving many gifts of cheer, many cheerful stories, and way too much to eat.

We caught up with my family on Boxing Day which is always a memorable occasion thanks to my Cousin and his Partner for hosting.

We also fitted in some shopping yesterday making the most of the end of Christmas sales and spending some gifted money.

Today we all kicked back with less running around and tried to get back to normal in readiness for the New Year. Still on holidays for another week or so, I had better make the most of it, with getting in some bear making, which will be the first time in a while since Christmas, just tiring and hectic.

I wish you all the best for the New Year and hope to share some memorable occasions with you all.

Today we bid a sad farewell to our dear old friend Bowdie, our 15 year old Border Collie boy, he will be sorely missed in our household and we will treasure all our fond memories of him, and its going to take some time to get over you.

Spring has Sprung!!

Well finally Spring time, my Weeping Cherry blossom tree is in full bloom in gorgeous Pale pink, I have numerous bears on the go in preparation for the Woodend Show in October, its just around the corner.

Footy finals in full swing, school holidays next week, beautiful warm weather, the smell of wattle in the air, butterflies are alive, flowers in bloom, and plenty of green grass.

Mid Winters Break!!

This weekend we travelled up to the Victorian/New South Wales border which is 3hrs + drive from home, we spent a lovely weekend in Wodonga, and stayed at Boathaven resort which overlooks the Hume Dam, fabulous views of peace and tranquility. We were there for my hubbies hobby which is involves plastic model building of cars, there was a show, so the family tagged along. We were able to experience the model show, learn about the history of the Hume Dam and visit a local Trout Farm and experience the thrill of feeding them, they are hungry little devils!!. From my own prospective it was great to see how others run shows in different hobbies and how they critique their work, very different to bears.

Yes plenty of sewing of bears was done during the trip as well.

Its that time of year again, I have dragged out the old knitting needles, I am knitting a scarf at the moment and another special project for a doggie friend, when I am done I will post some pics to share. Hoping all is well with everyone today..

Jacob has arrived!

Meet Jacob my hottest new design, in gorgeous Cognac Brown coloured ratinee mohair, such a sweet soul, I love him, the eyes say it all. His handmade tie was made from some fabric I found whilst we were on holidays, it has some cheeky Cats printed throughout.

How did you spend your last day of school holidays?

As I have been working through these school holidays, I had an opportunity to spend some time with the kids this weekend, and we went off swimming (inside of course) and had a fabulous time, now we are back into the grind of term 3 tomorrow. Yayyy I also can get back into the groove of working on my bears in the evenings as well.

This month I will be conducting a bearmaking class with some dear friends, I am really looking forward to sharing some of my knowledge and seeing the end results, the girls are looking forward to the challenge.

More renovations in our home

Well it is July school holidays here, its cold, wet and miserable, and there are renovations going on in our household, the ensuite bathroom is very tired and is having a revamp (finally), we are just waiting for some tiles and cabinets to arrive and its all systems go. So my morning mirror and cabinet are temporarily out of action and I must use the other bathroom, just a little pain for a small amount of time, looking forward to the finished project it will be well and truely worthwhile.

A wonderful trip to America

During the month of April our family travelled to California to attend a baseball sporting tour that my son Mitch played in, we had the wonderful pleasure of meeting some fantastic families and saw some fantastic baseball. Here are some snap shots. The BLE team from America won 5 out of 6 games.


We had the opportunity of attending the opening season baseball game at San Diego against the Padres and the LA Dodgers, my little friend "Mactavish" brand new designed bear is now a seasoned traveller he appears at this year Black and White Ball in June presented by Teddy Bears and Critters of Australasia, for more info please visit my website.



Our family had day trips to Disneyland and Universal Studio, and after the tour we hired a car and travelled to Bakersfield, San Francisco, Santa Rosa, Oakhurst, Yosemite National Park, Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon.

Trip highlights were visits to Disneyland, Universal Studios, Yosemite, Alcatraz, Lombard Street in San Fran, Visiting the Charles Schulz Museum and walking the fabulous strip at Vegas. Hope you enjoy these photos as much as we enjoyed our trip.

Summer in the Sun!!!!

Well its seems that summer has finally arrived we are expecting a first mini heatwave this summer and this week, the kids are on school holidays, we enjoyed a lovely day at Frankston and Seaford today by the seaside.
